Main Page
This wiki is in development. It is open for use but isn't really being advertised. I (Conclavion) am still trying to get it set up the way I want. But here's the plan:
This wiki is WikiCook, which can be a central hub and database for recipes. I'll create subdomain wikis, like leeks.wikicook.info and grilling.wikicook.info. Images, user accounts, recipes and other content can be shared between wikis freely.
Why, when there's already so many cooking information sources? Well, there is still room for a standard goto source for culinary info. Sources are either too specific, too broad, too difficult to edit or too difficult to search. Some are too focused on recipes and have no technique, and others are just plain incorrect. Having subwikis like WikiCook will can solve this problem, because a wiki can be nothing more than a pointer to a more successful community elsewhere (e.g. a forum on the Leeks-Lovers Association website) or it can be a detailed encyclopedia of a specific ingredient or technique. Basic ideas and recipes can be shared amongst wikis, reducing duplication and making it easier to find exactly the right piece of information for what you're looking for.
